ALL DOCUMENTATION AND INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED
Get from slight to mid-boost of 20db of pure bottom end and creamy mids. This is an amazing tone shaper which is completely transparent and beef (and widen) your single coil to a very fat humbcuker.

Of course you can have all the range in between, as the mid knob regulates the amount of mid and lower frequencies boost.

The Dennis Cornell Active Circuit was specifically designed for the Stratocaster-type shape, with low noise, reliability and a tone to enhance the sound of your guitar. It is complete with controls and jack socket to make it simple to fit and exciting to own. The more the mid-boost control is increased, the greater the gain at the lower middle frequency range, producing a thick, rich blues rock sound.

Classic Plus ST
The Classic Plus ST offers the same mid-boost control of the Classic ST, but in a slightly tamer format. The 'Plus' part is to indicate the presence of a preset tone pot concealed beneath the PC board. This offers a greater degree of control over the treble range, enabling top frequencies to be increased or rolled off to taste.

Dennis Cornell himself explains the theory behind this. "On the Classic ST, I felt that the degree of mid-boost caused a loss of some of the top end, so I included the small pre-set pot in this unit to allow the user to modify the treble response. However, I always recommend that users leave the preset pot in the middle position until they become familiar with the different sounds from the preamp."

At 20dB, the maximum output of the Classic Plus ST's mid-boost is slightly lower than the Classic ST. The controls follow the same format, maintaining the original sound of the guitar when turned fully off and gradually feeding in the boost as the pot is turned clockwise.

What this unit's mid-boost lacks in brute force is compensated for by the extra top end available. There's enough output level to push a clean amp setting into a meaty blues raunch, even with the preset pot in the recommended mid-way position, but the tone has a harder, more penetrating edge to it than the smooth delivery of the Classic ST, and any 'fingernails on a blackboard' screech I was expecting didn't show through.

The Classic ST Plus has a more vintage feel and greater clarity than the Classic ST's raunchier high output, and seems perfect for high energy blues and country rock.

If you don't have a cavity for the battery, it's easy enough to fix it in place by the trem springs/bridge.
